How to Save Money Buying New Home Furniture

In the furniture industry this is a Big week in the West Coast. The Furniture show is currently on now. This is where the manufacturers and designers release the new models for this Fall.

Many furniture companies will be placing large orders in order to obtain the special discounts offered at the furniture show.

You can save money during this time of the year several ways:

Floor Samples

Many furniture sellers have a showroom or unboxed furniture. Now is the time when they need the floor space for the new models. You should email them or call and ask to speak to the Sales Manager. Have the Item Number handy. Ask if they have that model or something similar. If so, time to ask for 50%-75% discount. Ask the email you images of the actual item.

Returns / Cancellations

You can save up to 60% off the sale price. Again, here you want to provide the Sales Manager with the Item Number and inquire about Returns. Most companies will inspect all returns and offer them at a 30% off. However, during this time of the year, many companies are willing to offer up to 60% off the item. Same rule applies here; ask for images of the actual item.

Discontinued Items

Follow the same tips offered above. However, when an item is discontinued by the manufacturer you need to understand that parts or finish may not be available. In the event of damage during transit or lost in transit you may not be able to obtain a replacement.
